What is the Legislative Youth Tour?
The 2025 Legislative Youth Tour is sponsored by Otsego Electric Cooperative and is available to students who reside in a home serviced by the Cooperative. Qualified students who apply have the opportunity to participate in an exciting trip to Washington D.C. in April. The selected student will join representatives from the Cooperative in meetings on Capitol Hill with members of Congress as part of the annual National Rural Electric Cooperative Association ("NRECA") Legislative Conference.
Students will also have the chance to enjoy a tour of Washington D.C. with student representatives from the other New York State electric cooperatives.
Participating in the Youth Tour is a great way to learn about this great nation, develop leadership skills, gain a better understanding of electric cooperatives, and make friendships that last forever.
One of the New York student delegates will also have the opportunity to be chosen to go on the following year to the NRECA's National Annual Meeting in 2026 as well! Do not miss out on this amazing opportunity!
